INGREDIENTS

• 1/2 cup of butter, softened
• 1/4 cup of shortening
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla
• 2 1/2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon of baking powder
• 1 teaspoon of salt

DIRECTIONS

1. Mix butter, shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla with a hand mixer or stand mixer until creamy
2. Add remaining ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) and mix about 2 minutes
3. Chill in fridge for one hour
4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
5. Remove from fridge and roll out dough, then cut out shapes with cookie cutter
6. Lay parchment paper on a cookie sheet and place cookies; bake on middle rack for 8-10 minutes
7. Let cool, then spread with icing
